SACRAMENTO – Senator Scott Wilk, representing the 21st Senate District, announced he has earned a perfect score on the National Federation of Independent Business’ (NFIB) legislative score card.
“Small business is the economic engine of California, representing 99.8 percent of all California businesses and creating two-thirds of all private sector jobs. These companies come in all shapes and sizes, but most importantly, they employ almost half of all Californians,” said Wilk. “Supporting small business is supporting my community, my constituents and their families.”
The NFIB is the nation’s largest group of small and independent business owners. The organization represents more than 300,000 members nationally and more than 20,000 in California.
At the conclusion of each legislative year, the NFIB identifies key legislation and the action taken on it by both the Senate and the Assembly and compiles a scorecard for each legislator. The 2018 NFIB legislative score card can be found here.
“I will continue to prioritize policies that encourage job growth in our state, or stopping the ones that don’t,” concluded Wilk. “It is an honor to be recognized for my efforts on behalf of our small business owners.”
