Senator Wilk Honors Susan Padilla-Conway and “God’s Hand Extended” for Transformative Impact on the High Desert Community

Senator Scott Wilk is proud to recognize Susan Padilla-Conway, founder of God’s Hand Extended, for her tireless dedication to supporting vulnerable populations across the High Desert through innovative programs and unwavering compassion.

“Susan Padilla-Conway is a shining example of resilience and service,” said Senator Wilk. “Her organization has touched thousands of lives, offering essential resources and hope to those who need it most. She and the team at God’s Hand Extended are very well deserving of this award.”

“Being recognized for this work was an unexpected and pleasant surprise,” said Susan Padilla-Conway. “It is an honor, and it feels amazing to know that the community believes in what we’re doing. From the beginning, people suggested we remove God from our nonprofit’s name, but I knew this was His plan—GOD'S GOT THIS. Looking back at what we’ve accomplished together, I’m inspired by what God has done through each volunteer. Our own personal life stories encourage us to relate to those we want to help. There is HOPE!”

In 2023 alone, God’s Hand Extended provided:

  • 1,483 individuals with clothing across the region.
  • 1,381 food boxes to seniors, veterans, and disabled individuals unable to access other pantries.
  • 1,000 children with comfort bags in partnership with My Stuff Bags.
  • 28,000 boxes of Krispy Kreme donuts to schools, non-profits, hospitals, and unsheltered communities.

This year, the organization has continued to expand its reach, distributing:

  • 11,150 diapers to families in need as a hub for the Community Action Partnership.
  • 22,000 boxes of donuts through the Donut Ministry.
  • 1,966 individuals with clothing, despite relocating and remodeling their Clothing Closet.

Susan’s programs, including the Bed Ministry, Blue Bag Ministry, and Street Ministry, ensure that children, families, and unsheltered individuals have access to necessities like beds, hygiene items, and meals. Through training volunteers and fostering partnerships with other nonprofits, God’s Hand Extended continues to expand its life-changing impact.
