Wilk Announces Senate District 21 Set to Receive $16 Million for New and Existing Parks

Senator Scott Wilk (R-Santa Clarita) announces that the California Department of Parks and Recreation has allocated nearly $16 million for local parks in Lancaster, Palmdale, and Victorville. More than $548.3 million in grants will go to improve 62 existing parks as well as to build 50 new parks in the area. These grants stem from the passage of Proposition 68 (2018).

“This is great news for our communities. The importance of green space and safe areas for our kids to play cannot be overstated,” said Wilk. “Clean parks allow our children to play outside safely as well as get the exercise and fresh air needed to maintain a healthy lifestyle. I am grateful for these funds as they will provide our families with a better space to enjoy the outdoors.”
