Wilk Honors A-1 Party for Small Business of the Month

Sacramento- Senator Scott Wilk, representing the 21st Senate District, has honored A-1 Party as his October Small Business of the Month. Customers, local elected officials and the business community surrounded Kim Kurowski, the owner of A-1 Party, at the Small Business of the Month celebration.

“I have known Kim for many years. My wife Vanessa and I have had front row seats to her unparalleled generosity and commitment to our community,” said Wilk. “There are very few non-profits in the SCV that have not benefited from her generosity. It is an honor for me to publically acknowledge Kim and A-1 Party’s contributions to our community.”

Kurowski has been in the balloon industry for over 30 years. A-1 Party is a home-based operation in Saugus, California selling balloons for occasions like birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, and more. Not only is Kim a prominent small business owner in the Santa Clarita Valley but she uses her platform to give back to the community.

Kim has served on the SCV Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors for over 20 years and on the Executive Committee for 12 of them. A-1 gives back to non-profits like Carousel Ranch, the College of the Canyons Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, LARC Ranch, the Soroptimist International of the Greater Santa Clarita Valley and many other organizations.

“I believe in being part of people’s lives. Providing balloons for a special occasion is one way and helping organizations that support our community is another. There are so many good people and organizations in the Santa Clarita Valley doing great things. I find it an honor to support them,” said Kim. “Thank you to Senator Wilk for this recognition. I am very appreciative of the recognition.”
