Wilk honors Doug Sutton of the SCV Gazette as 'Small Business of the Month'

SACRAMENTO –Last week, Assemblyman Scott Wilk, R-Santa Clarita, honored Doug Sutton, owner and publisher of the Santa Clarita Gazette as the 38th Assembly District Small Business of the Month for the month of March.

The Santa Clarita Gazette features news, opinion articles, restaurant reviews, and classified online ads. In addition to the SCV Gazette, Doug publishes the Canyon Country Magazine, which is distributed monthly to 20,000 homes on the east side of the Santa Clarita Valley.

Doug is also an active member in the Rotary Club of Santa Clarita, the local Santa Clarita Chamber of Commerce, and Heart of the Canyons Church. Doug and his wife Jeannie have been married for over 30 years, been living in the Santa Clarita Valley for the past 17 years, and have three sons.

“It's my honor to recognize such an authentic person and exemplary local publication,” said Wilk. “Doug Sutton is passionate about his business and our community. Doug is not only a business man, but has a servant's heart and his contributions to our community made it an easy decision to recognize the Santa Clarita Gazette as the Small Business of the Month.”

The Small Business of the Month program is designed to highlight and honor small businesses in the community that hire locally, give back to local non-profits, and promote growth and investment in the community.
