Wilk honors Hesperia’s C.A.R.S. as March Small Business of the Month

Senator Scott Wilk, R-Antelope Valley, honored Collision Auto Repair Specialist (C.A.R.S.) as the 21st Senate District Small Business of the Month at a luncheon reception today. Owners Carlos Sarmiento, his wife Theresa and daughter Valerie Ruiz received the award from Senator Wilk surrounded by happy customers, family, elected officials and local business owners.

“It is a pleasure to recognize the Sarmiento family and employees at Collision Auto Repair Specialists. Like so many small business owners, the Sarmiento’s had a vision - and put every nickel they had into it. Through hard work and grit they opened their business and have nurtured it at it grew,” said Senator Wilk. “When times were tough the Sarmientos still found a way to help others less fortunate than themselves. That is the essence of community service and one of the reasons C.A.R.S. is being honored today.”

Carlos Sarmiento worked in the collision auto repair industry servicing Southern California for 25 years. Less than 5 years ago he took a leap of faith and, with his family, opened his C.A.R.S. - Collision Auto Repair Specialist.

 “I am honored to receive this recognition.  Our success must be attributed to the hard work of our staff, family and especially our amazing daughter and partner Valerie Ruiz,” said Carlos, “Hesperia has been a wonderful place to open our business.  We do our best to support the community as it supports us day in and day out with business and friendship.”

In just a few years, Carlos has helped raise thousands of dollars for multiple charities and causes benefitting, veterans, children, and families enduring hardship. All the while working tirelessly with organizations such as, the Don Ferrarese Charitable Foundation, the Phoenix Foundation, the Hesperia and Adelanto Chamber of Commerce’s, Man About Town, High Desert Diva, Christmas Toy Drives and many more.  C.A.R.S. has received numerous recognitions including Best of the Desert 2017, and most recently the Hesperia Chamber of Commerce’s ‘Business of the Year.’

“C.A.R.S goes above and beyond collision repair in my district and it is an honor to recognize their hard work and commitment to this area,” concluded Wilk.
