Wilk issues a statement following Azerbaijan's weekend assault against the Republic of Artsakh and Armenia

Sacramento - Senator Scott Wilk, representing the 21st Senate District, issued the following statement upon learning of the Azerbaijan’s coordinated assault against the Republic of Artsakh and Armenia:

“The violence against citizens of Armenia and the Republic of Artsakh must be condemned by the world or Azerbaijan’s increasing disdain for diplomacy and desire to rely on use of force will continue to escalate causing more mayhem. The international communities’ continued silence on this will only embolden other power players in that region and result in more death and destruction of innocent civilians. My wife, Vanessa Safoyan Wilk, who is an Armenian American, and I can attest to the devastation unchecked violence had on her family during the genocide. We have travelled to Armenia and to Artsakh and found the people to be peaceful and freedom loving. This violence must be condemned and stopped.

“Our hearts are with the people of Armenia and Artsakh during these darkest of times.”
