Wilk joins colleagues in recognizing contributions of aerospace industry

SACRAMENTO – Today Senator Scott Wilk, R-Antelope Valley, joined Senate colleagues in recognizing the many contributions the aerospace and aviation industries have made to California. March 27 to 29 was declared California’s Aviation and Aerospace Days. Wilk, who represents the Antelope Valley, the epi-center of the aerospace/aviation industry in California, issued the following statement:

“Antelope Valley is the home to America’s aerospace industry, and it is imperative we do all we can to foster this vital sector. There is no region in the world that can match Antelope Valley’s aerospace resources and talent. That is why we’re working to bring a UC Institute for Aerospace to the Antelope Valley. This institute would be a magnet for investment, innovation, education and mortgage-paying jobs.

“Today we underscored our deep appreciation for the economic powerhouse that is the aerospace industry and our enduring commitment to its prolonged prosperity in California.”
