SACRAMENTO – Today, Senator Scott Wilk, R-Antelope Valley, issued the following statement regarding his vote against the Senate confirmation of Rep. Xavier Becerra to be California’s next attorney general:
“The people of this state deserve an attorney general who understands and embodies their values. Based on his testimony and his record in Congress, Becerra does not appear to appreciate the sanctity of the First and Second Amendments. Furthermore, his unwillingness to prioritize public safety and commit to keeping our criminals behind bars runs counter to his duties as attorney general.”
