Wilk’s Statement on Largest Marijuana Bust in the Antelope Valley

Senator Scott Wilk (R- Santa Clarita) released the following statement after a multi-agency operation today led to the seizure of thousands of pounds of illegally grown marijuana by law enforcement in the Antelope Valley:

“I am thankful for our law enforcement community and agencies who dedicated resources to this successful and collaborative effort.

“Unfortunately, this is just the tip of the iceberg and illegal grows are an expanding problem in this state and region. To make matters worse changes in public safety policies are now incentivizing these kinds of illegal activities within our state. Not only are these marijuana grows illegal, but they are dangerous to our environment as they pollute water, lands, and illegally divert water in the midst of a drought. Today’s bust is a preview into what must be done to address this mounting toxic issue. I look forward to continuing to work with local leaders, law enforcement, environmental and community groups to address this issue.”
