Wilk and Obernolte honor El Dorado Broadcasters as Small Business of the Month

Victorville - Senator Scott Wilk, representing the 21st Senate District, and Assemblyman Jay Obernolte recognized El Dorado Broadcasters as their Small Business of the Month at a community celebration during the San Bernardino County Fair opening day.

“El Dorado Broadcasters not only delivers on great radio for the High Desert, they deliver for the community as well,” said Wilk. “Many local organizations benefit from the quiet generosity of the station and it is an honor to publicly recognize all they do for the High Desert.”

El Dorado Broadcastors are based in Victorville and purchased the local stations in 2007. They are a driving force behind community awareness with multiple stations, their Facebook page - High Desert Community Information and the online Y102 Community Events Calendar.

In addition, El Dorado hosts many great community events throughout the year such as the annual Women’s Expo, the Kids and Baby Shower Expo, Job Fairs and the ever popular Trunk or Treat event in the fall to help children.

There are 3.7 million small businesses in California, which employ almost 7 million Californians. Small businesses are the driving force behind our economy and are often the backbones of communities like those in the Victor Valley.

“It is an honor to recognize a small business that does so much for us,” said Wilk. “So many times in Sacramento the attention is on large companies or corporations, but at the end of the day, it is our small business community that invests in our neighborhoods, our cities and our communities. El Dorado Broadcasters is certainly one of them.”
