SACRAMENTO – Assemblyman Scott Wilk, R-Santa Clarita, issued the following statement today in honor of President Abraham Lincoln's 204th birthday.
“President Lincoln was a remarkable man who steered our nation through one of the most challenging times in our history. He understood that liberty and equality are the core values of our nation. We celebrate his greatness by honoring him on this day,” Wilk said.
“Lincoln once said, 'you cannot escape the responsibility of tomorrow by evading it today.' California faces some serious fiscal challenges and we must heed his words by confronting these challenges without delay,” Wilk continued.
