Wilk Joins Citizens Against Lawsuit Abuse for Small Business Seminar

SACRAMENTO – Assemblyman Wilk, R-Santa Clarita, will be joining California Citizens Against Lawsuit Abuse (CALA) for a free Halloween themed Small Business Summit filled with real litigation horror stories.

What: California Citizens Against Lawsuit Abuse (CALA) will discuss how abusive lawsuits have hurt their businesses and Assemblyman Wilk will talk about legislative efforts to protect businesses against abusive lawsuits and eliminate the economic burden that can cost jobs and ultimately cause businesses to leave the Golden State or close their doors altogether.

Where: Salt Creek Grill, 24415 Town Center Drive, Valencia, CA 91355

When: Friday, October 31, 2014 at 11:30 a.m.

Why: California CALA is sponsoring the Small Business Summit to raise awareness about the costs and consequences of lawsuit abuse on small businesses. The campaign conducts events across the state where CALA and its supporters share their stories on how lawsuit abuse hurts small businesses and damages California's economy. Every time a business pays thousands of dollars to an attorney to settle an abusive lawsuit, there is less money for that business to spend on expanding and hiring new workers.
