Wilk Responds to Governor Brown's Revised State Budget

SACRAMENTO – Assemblyman Scott Wilk, R-Santa Clarita, responded to the release of Governor Brown's 2014-15 revised budget proposal:

“As co-author of ACA 1XX, which would create a Rainy Day Fund, I'm pleased that Governor Brown has made establishing a reserve fund a top priority in the May Revise.”

“However, I'm troubled by the explosion of Medi-Cal enrollment growth that is robbing dollars from public education as was promised when voters approved Prop 30.  California has the highest poverty rate in the nation, and CEO Magazine just ranked California the worst place to do business for the 10th consecutive year.  The best social program is a job and we need to be addressing tort reform, workers comp reform and reducing regulations so entrepreneurs are willing to invest or re-invest in our state.”
