Wilk's voting record earns top marks from small business organization

SACRAMENTO – Senator Scott Wilk, R-Antelope Valley, announces he has earned a perfect score on the National Federation of Independent Business’ (NFIB) legislative score card.

“What goes on in Sacramento has a tremendous impact – good and bad - on small business,” said Wilk. “The agenda in Sacramento is big business, big labor and always bigger government but 99.45% of all businesses in California are small businesses and 49.5% of California’s workers are employed by one. They are truly the economic engine of this great state, yet so many times Sacramento ignores their importance to our economy and to our communities.”

At the conclusion of each legislative year the NFIB identifies key legislation and the action taken on it by both the Senate and the Assembly and compiles a scorecard for each legislator. The NFIB legislative score card can be found here.

“It is my job to speak up for the needs of the small businesses that lay out their own capital, hire millions of Californians and invest in our communities,” Wilk concluded. “Promoting policies that encourage job growth in our state, or stopping the ones that don’t, remain top priorities.”
