Sen. Scott Wilk (R-Santa Clarita) is pleased to recognize Adelanto’s El Montecito Mexican and American Restaurant as Senate District 21’s Small Business of the Month.
“Starting from humble beginnings, husband and wife team Moises and Rosario Montes are the prime example of what it means to achieve the American Dream,” said Senator Wilk. “Their passion for great food, coupled with their commitment to community service, has made El Montecito one of the most loved restaurants in the High Desert, and it’s my pleasure to highlight their accomplishments. Congratulations!”
Moises and Rosario Montes started El Montecito Mexican and American Restaurant in 2018, when their first location opened in Adelanto. Between Moises’ culinary expertise from Mexico, and Rosario’s business management skills, the couple make the perfect team.
After gaining popularity, they expanded to Apple Valley in 2024 and now boast 30 employees.
In addition to serving up delicious, authentic Mexican food, Moises and Rosario make it a point to give back to the High Desert community by sponsoring local sports teams, supporting other local businesses, and donating food daily to local nonprofits.
El Montecito is well-known for always being ready to lend a helping hand. At a recent city event in Adelanto where the caterer was a no-show, Moises and Rosario sprang into action and saved the day by catering the event at the last second.
